Hey Nitromians,

We have received an email informing us about this great piece of Dirk Valentine artwork! It really is something... wow!

This piece of artwork is in a very different style to a lot of the fan art we recieve and decided this, and the fact that it looks so great, were reasons enough to showcase it in the blog! Thanks 'uncle-salad'! :D

Hi Nitromians!

The website is currently undergoing some major changes in both our frontend and backend systems as from our last blog update and today I thought we'd give you a quick progress update as to where we are with the redesign.

The website has been built, and now needs a few tweaks here and there. We have also been making room for even more functionality that we plan to add to the website after the initial launch.

I have got the 'hearting' system working for the game pages which means you can help shape which of our games make it into the top five each day!

A backend system has also been created to help for making a website skin quicker, giving the artist more time to design those much loved skins and backgrounds!

We’ve got the ‘new games’ indicators working too, these will be used to show you which games you haven’t played yet!

There's still a little bit more work to do including ironing out some browser bugs and updating the way we launch and update games. At the moment I am still coming across bugs that need tweaking regularly.

I'm also updating the website's scroll functionality to make it more friendly to navigate!

We will bring you more soon!

Thank you for all your feedback on Test Subject Arena, we're glad to see it's going down well. We have been listening to your suggestions for improvements and are happy to say that we have an update.

This update addresses:
Keys shown at arena select, 2 player only more prominant, and it's now possible to kill players that squat in corners using the melee.

Well Nitromians, hope you all enjoyed the news this week, we decided to hold off on our second game preview video that we have planned as poor Tom was off ill. So we will have that for you to look forward to next week now!

Also we think it's probably a good time to update you on the new website design progress so we will have more on that and other things too!

Hi Nitromians!

Today we have a little surprise for you in the form of a spin off to our Test Subject Series (Test Subject Blue & Test Subject Green)… Test Subject Arena! While we were making the second Test Subject game we wondered about the potential for fun in the game with two player.

We decided the game was a little linear to get much extra from making it co-op but as an arena game we felt it could have a lot of potential for fun tactics. We had a little play at the end of making Test Subject Green and it turns out we were right so we fleshed it out into a little spin off release.

WARNING: The game is two player only (no single player mode!). We would have loved to have added single player but the work involved in the AI (especially with the portals) didn’t seem worth it when it is most fun as a two player experience. We have never made a two player only game before on Nitrome so please do let us know what you think via Facebook, Twitter or Email :)

If it is popular we may even consider other two player only games in the future!

We hope you enjoy the game that we purposely decided to leave as a surprise release!
