As a flash programmer you will be required to program games in the flash environment collaborating with the
primarily the artists but also sometimes the iphone programmers and web developers.
You will be expected to share duties within the games you develop such as level building, testing and
producing licensing builds of games. Your programming duties will include work on both existing Nitrome i.p.'s
as well as new game ideas that you will get the opportunity to contribute to.
We require that a ActionScript games programmer has the following skills:
- A solid understanding of the Flash authoring enviroment and Actionscript 2.0 and 3.0.
- Other programming languages such as C++ or JAVA are desirable but not required.
- Examples that demonstrate your ability to program games in flash is a must.
- Understanding of physics and math concepts required for complex game development. Also use of tools such Box 2d, Papervision/Away 3D would be desirable but not required.
- The ability to self-learn new skills as required and keep up to date with new developments.
- An understanding of how to use Photoshop and an understanding of compresing images.
- Industry experience would be a bonus but is not required.
- Be a keen games player and in particular play lots of retro or 2d games.
