We are as always reviewing elements of our blog and as we have been adding a lot of Youtube clips recently, we are seeing some undesirable results. A few people have reported problems seeing the videos and there is a known issue of the video teariJng at the edges of the viewport which currently seems unfixable.
There is also the problem that you can’t drag through the videos which is a problem with other items also and an issue we hope to address in the future. We have decided, due to these issues that we should change the way we implement videos into our blog and therefore all future videos will be accessed via a link to the video page to keep the process cleaner!
Hi Nitromians!
Those of you that got to the end of Test Subject Blue will have seen... ...look away now if you don’t want a spoiler!!...
...no really, last warning!!...
...that the end of the game said 'to be continued' and there was a big hint as to what the second one will be about. I’m happy to confirm that we have been underway with the sequel ever since finishing the original game! It is as you would expect, if you finished the first game, going to be called Test Subject Green but hopefully will not be quite as predictable as you might expect. More soon!!
One final note should be that this sequel is totally unrelated to the high profile sequel mentioned a couple of days back in the blog. Test Subject Blue went down great but is not our biggest game without a sequel so keep guessing there! Also it’s interesting to see that nobody has came close to guessing the game so far on Facebook or Twitter.
Hi Nitromians!
We have something brewing at Nitrome that we think you will all be very excited to play on release! We’re not ready to reveal it just yet though it is well underway, but we will tell you that it is a sequel to one of our most popular games ever and probably the most popular game that has yet to have a sequel!
Ok enough clues... guess away and more will be revealed soon :)
Hi Nitromians!
It's the start of another week and to kick it off we'd just like to tell you that our latest game Knight Trap has been released! :D
Use your own subtle mix of agility, timing and patience to guide the knights safely through the traps and make it to the princess!
Have fun and remember to share it with your friends! :)
Hi Nitromians!
We asked a while back what you thought we should call you all and we had some really fun suggestions with some favourites being ‘nits’ (hilarious but possibly some of you would be offended) , coopers (cool but not really Nitrome), Nitrominions (possibly just pipped to the post), pixel people (cool but maybe too long). Nitromians seemed to go down the best so I think we are going to stick with that for a while and see how it sits with everyone. We’re still open to change it though so keep your suggestions coming in.
You can, as always, feedback on Facebook, Twitter, or good old Email.
It’s a month from our Twitter page launch and the redesign of our Facebook page and we seem to be gaining some real traction in the take up of both. Our twitter page now has over 600 followers which I think you will agree is pretty impressive for month one ...roll on 1000!
Facebook has exploded recently though and now has over 6000 likes! Wow that’s a lot of support so thanks for that! We have been doing our best to check in from time to time and respond to some of the questions and comments you make so please do sign up and check them out if you want to be a little more social with us :)

It has now been over a month since we launched the blog and committed to a post every day for that month so what now? …We literally had far too much news it turned out to share with you in a single month so… drum roll… We are happy to announce that we are going to extend that pledge to produce a new post every day for at least another month!
Our aim with the blog is to make it a definitive destination on Nitrome. It should be the most updated part of the site and one that we hope people will grow to want to check out every time that they visit! We have seen the number of people that come to the blog grow substantially over the last month and we hope this will continue :)
What do you think of how we have been updating? ... Please do provide us
feedback on Facebook, Youtube, Twitter
or good old reliable email :)
The more observant amongst you may have noticed a heart symbol in one of our designs for the new site and today we want to let you know a little more about what the intent is with this element. It is in essence a ‘like’ button so if you click it in the new system it means you like it or as we will probably be calling it ‘heart’ it or possibly ‘love’ it…..but that might be a bit too girly for the boys
What is probably more interesting is how we are going to use that information. For starters you will be able to see the games you have hearted in a section within ‘games’ so there will be a quick easy way to find your favorites. You will also be able to see with a quick rollover on the front page which games are hearted there and we will in time add more ways to view your hearted games more easily
This feature won’t only be used for you however…..we will be using the number of ‘hearts’ a game gets to gauge popularity and the first place you will see the effect of this will be in the top 5 games which in the new design will be based on the (daily) number of ‘hearts’ the games gets. There will also likely be an area in games featuring the games in popularity order!
In the future the hearting system will apply to other areas of the site too so you will be able to rate other things and interact in other ways that we are not ready to mention.
Stay tuned for more updates!
Following on from last week’s fan mail we got sent this very impressive Lego version of our test Subject Blue Character. There are more images from different angles if you click through the link. Thanks to Alex Mac for making this wonderful piece and also a thank you to Jess who pointed this out to us :)
