Hi Nitromians,
after a relaxing weekend recouperating from the Nitrome Jam we are back in the office and finally ready to reveal the games to you all. We have had a few teathing problems getting them up as you may have noticed but we think we have it sorted so we will be going through and setting them live as quickly as we can.
We have truely been blown away not only that all the 7 Nitrome teams managed to complete a game in a week but also at the sheer quality of some of the games that were submitted from outside of the Nitrome office. The level of support for the Jam has been truely humbling.
We always said in the office that we would see how this Jam went before commiting to any future events but we all had such fun this time that I think it is highly likely that we will see an NitromeJam 2015 :)
Hello Nitromians and especially to developers involved in the Nitrome Jam. We are currently wrapping things up on our games in the Nitrome office and officially you should submit your game by 12pm today!
We will be sorting and officially launching the games on the site on Monday when we get in so as a nicety we have decided to allow you all a little cool down time over the weekend. Games should still be submitted by the deadline today but if you want to squash a few bugs or add last minute polish then feel free to resubmit over the weekend.
You can submit via the Nitrome Jam website or via email (jam.entries@nitrome.com) if you prefer or have problems.
From what we have seen on Twitter through the week there are going be loads of great games for everyone to try next week when we also will start the vote for the Winner of Nitrome Jam 2014!
Have a great weekend everyone!
The voting for the theme of NitromeJam 2014 is now closed. The votes have been counted and the winning theme is:
DREAMS
All Nitrome Jam contestants may now get started on their game! If you are involved in the Jam please make sure you have read the rules and in particular note the following as they WILL stop your submission being accepted:
No Blood, excessive gore or sexual content!
The game dimensions must be 550px x550px or less!
The game must run in a browser (or iframes for HTML5)…no download games!

We wish you all the very best of luck with the Jam and we look forward to sharing and viewing the resulting games on Monday the 9th of June when they will be checked and set live.
For anyone involved in the Jam who would like to share their progress if they can tweet using #Nitromejam we will be sure to retweet everything and will try our best to round up those tweets to blog posts and Facebook posts too.
Hi Nitromians,
We are thrilled to announce that our very talented friends at Halfbot are going to be participating in the Nitrome Jam! If you don't know them they are the guys that made the very awesome 'the Blocks Cometh' on iPhone and also helped Vlambeer bring the equally awesome 'Super Crate Box' to iOS to boot!
In case your wondering the image used here is from Halfbots new game 'Bullet Age'. It looks set to take the studio to a whole new level of awesomeness so check it out if you haven't already.
We have had lots and lots of people join the jam so far and while many of them may just be over enthusiastic to sign up we know that within that there are going to be some great games for sure that would not exist if we had not opened the jam to people outside of Nitrome. We will continue to highlight some of the people who commit to being involved in Nitrome Jam 2014 as we run up to the event!
Hey Nitromians,
The Nitrome Game Jam webpage is now live!
The page includes details regarding rules, technology and size restrictions of your entry’s.
Anyone who would like to participate in the Nitrome Game Jam can head over to the site and sign up now.
Finally were asking for a couple of volunteers...
All of the Nitrome staff will be involved making the games, but we would really love to let you all know what's happening as it happens. Therefore if anyone is interested and able to come to the Nitrome office that week and maybe take some photos and write some blog posts please get in touch. Support@nitrome.com
You need to be over 18 and we may need to meet you beforehand so we can show you the ropes (please note this is a first come first served basis). On the other hand if no one is interested then we’ll just post as often as we can but it may be a quieter week.
Have a great weekend =)
Hi Nitromians,
we are thrilled to announce the first ever Nitrome Game Jam! It is happening between June the 2nd and June the 6th 2014. During that time the Nitrome staff will be splitting into teams of two and making games inspired by a chosen theme for 5 days. At the end of the 5 days all work will stop and we will let you all play the games we have made. you can all then vote on a winner.
Although this is a Nitrome Jam we are open to people outside of Nitrome getting involved. You will have to be able to make a game though! We will have more information about that soon but if you are interested in getting involved then please email us to declaire your interest.
Our plan is to let the Nitrome audience vote on the theme, but first of all we need some themes to vote on. So with that in mind please feel free to suggest some themes in the comments below. When suggesting a theme please note that were not looking for game ideas like 'sequel to Final Ninja' or 'Nitrome Smash Bros'!... Think more, Time travel, surprise or chocolate.
look out for more news soon!
Hi Nitromians,
Since we have been back, we have been hard at work on some new flash games for the website. You know about the second part of Cheese Dreams: New Moon already, but there's more.
Some of you have pointed out to us that we have been making a lot of sequels of late. So we thought it was about time to introduce some brand new concepts to you all. With that in mind, we have two of them bubbling away behind the scenes both featuring a brand new mechanic.
Well have more on them soon. But until then, take a glimpse at both games main protagonist in silhouette.
Any guesses on what they both are?
Hi Nitromians,
for a long time now Nitrome have been experimenting with mobile. From the very beginning we were experimenting with unreleased mobile Chick Flick, there was the long time halted Super Feed Me and finally our Touchy app followed by our first finished mobile game Icebreaker. We're still going with Icebreaker on porting and updates but a few of you will recall that back before Icebreaker was released we also teased a top secret project on the mobile page at 25% complete.
When Rovio got involved as publisher of Icebreaker we needed more people on the team so that project was also put on hold while we finished it.
We did however have another team start work on a different game and they have since before the launch of Icebreaker be quietly working away at it. With all the false starts on mobile and with a general frustration from people who waited for Icebreaker following the initial announcement we have be wary of saying any more about the project until it is actually done.
I am happy to say we are getting closer to that point so when we can comfortably feel it is actually ready we will plan a marketing campaign and finally reveal it...this time at a much closer time to the actual release.
So is this a tease...sure it is but we thought you would like to know that we have been busy behind the scenes on something new!
We're 1 week through the Christmas Avatars now and I hope you agree that we have been quite devious with some of them :)
We are thrilled by the amount of comments being generated from this... it is beyond what we expected! So to spur on more debate which avatars are you expecting to see and which would you like to see...maybe you want to make your predictions maybe just requests for favourite characters we haven’t covered.
We would love to hear and even if it doesn't make it into the Christmas line up we likely would do any avatar that we see a lot of support for!

You'll have to have an account to unlock these avatars, so if you haven't already got one, go here (it's free!)
Wow!
We have just noticed that there are over 100,000 accounts on Nitrome now! That's great!
We really appreciate the support that we get from our fans, so thank you to everyone for playing at Nitrome.com!
